During the Victor Awards 2020 we will be running a silent auction for a fabulous getaway at NIHI Sumba resort on the island of Sumba. Travel + Leisure readers globally have voted NIHI Sumba as the number one hotel in the world, in all categories, for 2016 & 2017 World’s Best Awards. This prize is worth is a whopping 65 million Rupiah!

HOW DOES IT WORK

Silent auctions have the same goal as a traditional auction, that is to sell the item to the highest bidder as a fundraiser for Bali Hash 2. However silent auctions are executed in a completely different manner.

Whereas a traditional auction has an auctioneer who calls out to the bidders for bids, the silent auction is just that. Silent. Therefore, no one knows who bid what amount.

FOR PARTY ATTENDEES

During the Victor Awards there will be paper and pencils in the center of each table. Each guest who wishes to place a bid, will write down the highest amount he or she is willing to pay for the NIHI Sumba getaway.

FOR ONLINE ATTENDEES

We will also be “livestreaming” our event and invite others to bid electronically. For this, bidders will text a message containing their bid via WhatsApp to us at the party.

SO WHO WINS?

At the close of bidding, after all of the other raffle prizes have been given away, we will collect all the bids, the Committee will analyze the bids and announce the winning bidder.

CAN I BID TO GET THE PRIZE AND SELL IT?

No. Because of the value of this prize, some may wish to get the prize and sell it. NIHI Sumba has given this prize to Bali Hash 2 on the proviso that the winner claims the prize in person.

This voucher is valid for one year and the winner will need to go to Sumba for the 3-night stay. This means that the winner will also need to arrange transport to and from Sumba.
